The Global Women Leadership Forum [previously known as the Black Women Leadership Summit] is an annual international initiative to empower and enable more women into available leadership positions in society. Several records show a lack of diversity and gender representation in political appointments, corporate boardrooms, tech, sciences and musch more. At this forum, experts engage the audience with information and experiences to help close the gap by encouraging more women to aim for leadership responsibilities in society.
This event is sometimes held in cooperation with the authorities in a government establishment like the house of assembly, legislature, chamber or parliament with reputable government officials with many years of experience and accomplishments to help inspire women to aim higher. This also helps to educate our community on the basics of civic involvement.
We acknowledge and plan a few activities to celebrate the International Day of the Girl as declared by the United Nations. A recent UNICEF report shows girls spend 40% more time on chores than boys and this is just another relevant fact that shows girls and women are occupied with domestic reponsibilities that also impact them from playing leadership role in society.
